Ik zag eens een jurk…
\nEen jurk in een dure online boetiek…
\nZe was prachtig in haar eenvoud maar het prijskaartje was niet zo prachtig..
\nEn sinds ik zelf kledij naai, kan ik helemaal niet veel geld meer uitgeven aan meisjesjurken.
\nIk liet me dus inspireren door die mooie jurk en ging zelf aan de slag :-).
\nMeteen wist ik ook dat ik met de Juliette jurk kon werken, een heerlijk patroon dat ontstond uit een samenwerking tussen Jill (Kneesocks and goldilocks<\/a>) en Suz (Sewpony<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Once upon a time I spotted a dress…<\/em>
\nA dress in an expensive online store…<\/em>
\nIt was magnificent in it’s simplicity but the pricetag wasn’t that magnificent..<\/em>
\nEver since I started sewing, I stopped spending lots of money on dresses.<\/em>
\nSo I let myself be inspired by that dress and went to work myself :-).<\/em>
\nI immediately knew I could use the Juliette dress for my plans, a wonderful pattern, born from a collab between Jill (Kneesocks and goldilocks<\/a>) and Suz (Sewpony<\/a>).<\/em><\/p>\n

Ik ben ongelofelijk blij met het resultaat, helemaal zoals ik het voor ogen had.
\nDit mooie en luchtige katoenen stofje kocht ik enkele maanden geleden bij Stof op zolder, zonder specifiek project voor ogen maar ik zag potentie ;-).
\nHet patroon komt standaard met een gerimpelde kraag maar die liet ik achterwege.
\nIk begon bij het simpele jurkpatroon en knipte het door, een beetje op het gevoel, om er de ruffle tussen te laten passen.
\nVoor extra contrast draaide ik de stof om de ruffle te knippen.<\/p>\n

I’m thrilled with the result, it totally worked out the way I wanted it to.<\/em>
\nA few months ago, I bought this beautiful and light cotton fabric at Stof op zolder, without a specific project in mind but I saw potential :-).<\/em>
\nIn the pattern there’s a ruffled neckline included but I didn’t use that option. I started from the simple dress pattern and cut it where I felt the ruffle had to be placed.<\/em>
\nTo create some extra contrast, I turned the fabric round to cut out the ruffle piece.<\/em><\/p>\n

De achterkant werkte ik af met een biaislint, net zoals het patroon voorschrijft.
\nDe ruffle kreeg een rolzoompje, een makkelijke en snelle manier om die af te werken.<\/p>\n

I finished the neckline and back with bias binding, as described in the pattern.<\/em>
\nThe ruffle was finished using a rolled hem, I find that an easy and fast way to finish :-).<\/em><\/p>\n

Verder maakte ik de maat volgens de maattabel (9 jaar) en die past prima.
\nDe lengte werd aangepast naar maat 7 jaar.
\nIn deze fotoshoot nam ik ook wat tijd om mijn nieuwe lens te leren kennen en nog een keertje extra te oefenen met de manuele instellingen van de camera.
\nGelukkig had Sterre deze keer alle geduld van de wereld ;-).<\/p>\n

I made Sterre a size 9 and that fits her perfectly.<\/em>
\nLengthwise, I shortened to a size 7.
\nI took some time to get to know my new camera lens and practise the manual settings of my camera.
\nLuckily, Sterre had all the time in the world for her photographing mommy :-).<\/em><\/p>\n
